Self Talk ... and its impact

“A person is what they think all day long.” RALPH WALDO EMERSON
.

Self-talk has a strong impact on your self-esteem and confidence, either positively or negatively, based on your thoughts. Listening to what you’re saying can help you develop better self talk. For example, if you don’t have confidence in yourself you may perceive the world as being against you. In order to change those thoughts it’s necessary to recognise your trigger when you start thinking negatively. A trigger is something you physically experience, like a churning in your stomach, a tension in your head, etc. What this trigger creates is awareness and then choice to change those thoughts. If it is difficult to switch into positive thinking immediately start by using ‘possible’ thinking, e.g. “I’m not good enough” becomes “what is it that I am able to do”; “I’ll never understand this” becomes “what am I missing?”.
.

What self talk do you want to change and what ‘possible’ thinking can you create to bring about that change as a step towards ‘positive’ thinking?
